An Award for Excellence in Agricultural Journalism
Applications have now opened for the 2008 Bank of New Zealand Rongo Award for excellence in agricultural journalism, organised by the New Zealand Guild of Agricultural Journalists and Communicators 

First prize $2000
And a trophy of a distinctive Maori carving
Second prize $500

What is required for entry:Two feature articles on separate subjects, or a single theme series, on any aspect of New Zealand agriculture, most of which must have been published/broadcast during the 12 months prior to 31 July 2008. The Rongo Award is for agricultural journalism, broadcast or written, but not advertising or advertorial copy. 

Please provideTWO copies of all written or audio/video/cd/dvd material. Print portfolios should be A4 size. Attach a copy of the entry form to both copies of your entry. 

Closing date:  Monday, 15 September 2008.

 The judge will consider the following points when considering entries:
*  Choice of subject in terms of topicality, educational and industrial value, news value and originality.
*  Thoroughness and enterprise shown in gathering the information, accuracy in interpretation and skill in presenting it.

The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
